The story behind Secret Beauty

Meet Basia

Long before Secret Beauty had a treatment room, Basia had started asking a simple question of everything in her daily life: does this belong here? Today she asks it of everything she puts on your skin.

Where it began

A habit of attention

It started with her own wellness journey. Basia began paying closer attention to ordinary choices: what she ate, how she moved and rested, what was in the products she used at home, and where it all came from.

That curiosity became years of reading and learning about whole foods, women’s wellbeing, movement and recovery, and how skincare is actually formulated. She never found a perfect set of rules, and she stopped looking for one. What stayed with her instead was a habit of choosing carefully, and a willingness to change her mind when she learns something better.

What goes on the skin deserves the same thought as what goes on the plate.

In the treatment room

Everything for a reason

That way of choosing came with her into esthetics. Basia doesn’t reach for a serum because it’s fashionable, or add a step because every other spa does. She wants to know what a product is for, what’s in it, and whether it truly belongs in your treatment. She keeps researching professional skincare, seeking out well-made, thoughtfully formulated products, and she’s content to leave the latest trend on the shelf.

Your facial is shaped by what she sees and what you tell her, not by a script. Even the room reflects that restraint: the studio is fragrance-free, with no perfumes, candles or diffusers. Some care shows up in what she leaves out.

Nothing earns a place in a treatment simply because it’s popular.

Room to breathe

Nowhere else to be

Basia loves being outdoors: hiking, moving, unrolling a yoga mat. These are the ways she slows down and makes room in her day. Yoga especially shaped what she wanted the studio to offer: a place where the noise of the day recedes and your shoulders can finally drop.

A treatment with Basia is skincare first. But she hopes it’s also an hour with nowhere else you need to be.

Time to stop.

To breathe.

To be looked after, without having to explain or perform.

Getting to know you

She listens first

Basia genuinely enjoys getting to know the people she cares for. At your first visit she’ll ask what you notice about your skin, what concerns you, what you love and what you’d rather avoid. Over time she learns the small things: how your skin tends to respond, the textures you like, whether you’d prefer conversation or quiet.

If you’re curious, she’s happy to share what she has learned over the years about ingredients, skincare, movement, food and the everyday habits that shape how we feel. It’s a conversation, never a lecture, and never a judgment of what’s in your bathroom cabinet. She’s your esthetician, not your doctor or nutritionist, and she keeps it that way. Trust builds the way it does in any good relationship: one visit at a time.
