Jessner Resurfacing Peel

Professional resurfacing, real renewal

$13560 min

The Jessner peel blends salicylic acid, lactic acid and resorcinol to resurface the outer layers of skin. Basia applies it in layers, typically one to three, and decides on the day how far to take it based on your skin history, sensitivity and how your skin responds. It stays within the superficial peels a licensed esthetician performs: it works on the epidermis, never deeper.

Expect your skin to peel. Around days two to five it tightens and sheds, sometimes lightly, sometimes visibly, for up to a week, revealing a smoother, clearer and more even-looking complexion underneath. A series of three, spaced about four weeks apart, delivers the most visible change.

Aftercare

Expect tightness and peeling, usually starting around days two to five and lasting up to a week. Let it shed on its own: don't pick, pull or scrub. Use a gentle fragrance-free cleanser, moisturizer and broad-spectrum SPF only, and avoid sun, retinoids, exfoliating acids and scrubs until peeling has finished.

Questions

Is there downtime with a Jessner peel?

Mostly social downtime. Your skin will feel tight and then peel for several days, more visibly on some areas than others. Most clients carry on with work and daily life, with plenty of moisturizer and SPF.

Who should not have this peel?

This peel is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with a resorcinol, aspirin, salicylate or other ingredient allergy, or while using isotretinoin. Irritated, sunburned, broken or actively inflamed skin must be fully calm first. Recent procedures, cold sores, prescription topicals and medications that increase sensitivity may also require postponement or clearance from your prescribing clinician.

How many treatments will I need?

One visit can leave skin looking refreshed, smoother and brighter. For the best visible change in uneven-looking tone and texture, a series of three treatments spaced approximately four weeks apart is recommended.
